Sleepy island of Mauritius waking up fast

It is a common scenario in a South African office: a colleague talking about a recent trip to Mauritius. For a long time we have thought of this Indian Ocean island as our dominion — an upmarket, romantic alternative to the umpteenth Umhlanga family holiday. But the sleepy hideaway has rejigged its fiscal policies and become a bona fide challenger for the place to base multinational business in Africa.
